Morning
Prayer
Psalms 110 and 111
The first psalm is about
the new king who on coronation has priest privileges. The second praises God
for great deeds, honour, majesty, enduring righteousness and mercy.
Proverbs 30: 5 – 14
These proverbs begin with
“Every word of God proves true”. The writer asks to be kept far from lies, to
have neither great wealth nor poverty since both made it hard to stay faithful.
The proverbs give examples when we might have little insight into our behaviours
that hurt others.
Luke 6: 27 – 38
Jesus teaches us to love
and bless our enemies, to be generous and not to judge others; forgive and you
shall be forgiven.

experiences the presence of God. He hears God make promises to him about his
future. On waking he named the place Bethel.

Loving and merciful God, we thank your for your
teaching through the Bible. Help us every day to be faithful, to work for your
glory, to speak respectfully and to respond well to those in need. May your
mercy and glory shine through our actions and attitudes. We ask this through
the love of Jesus Christ and the grace of your Holy Spirit. Amen.
