Almighty God nothing is beyond your power to change or heal. Help us today in 1000 little ways in our thoughts, words, deeds and contemplations of our hearts to proclaim you Lord, God, Saviour and Messiah through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord and the power of your Holy Spirit. Amen.

Evening Prayer

Psalm 103

A beautiful psalm of praise blessing God with every part of our being and for every benefit we have been given especially God's eternal love. This is a luscious reverent, adoring psalm.

Exodus 19: 16 – 20: 17

God comes to Sinai as a great cloud and thunderstorm. Moses is on the mountain and no-one is to come near. God instructs Moses to bring Aaron on to the mountain. God tells Moses the Ten Commandments.

1 Corinthians 1: 10 – 19

Paul calls for unity in the community – he has been told that there are divisions over who was baptised by whom. Paul is glad he can be impartial. He says that Christ did not send him to baptise but to proclaim the Gospel, and not with the skills of a convincing orator. Because when we think about it, the message about the cross is useless to those who are lost, but to those who are saved it restores us through the power of God.

Holy God of restoration and hope, who restored a nation from slavery and gave it the tools to establish just societies and restored Paul and the early Christian communities; restore us this night. Refresh and re-invigorate us so that in the morning we can awake with energy and joy to work in this world to your praise and glory through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord and the power of your Holy Spirit. Amen.
