Morning
Prayer
Psalm 93
God’s greatness is praised – more powerful than
floods, more powerful than the seas. God’s commandments are sure and God lives in
holiness.
Philippians 2: 1 - 11
Paul says that if the Philippians have received
encouragement from being united with Christ, comfort from the love of Jesus,
fellowship with the Holy Spirit, tenderness and compassion then be like that –
live that out. Do nothing out of selfish ambition but for the service of
others.
We should have the same attitude as Christ who did not
seek to be equal with God but became a servant, became human, humbled himself
and became obedient even to death on a cross. Therefore Christ is exulted by
God so that at Jesus’s name every knee shall bow and everyone confess that
Christ is Lord to the glory of God.

Lord Holy
and almighty God full of love, mercy and grace we thank you for your gift of
Christ. We pray that our lives may be guided by his example. We ask that we may
bring your comfort, love, fellowship and compassion to others in humility, so
that we are among those whose lives confess Christ is Lord to your glory though
Jesus Christ your Son our Lord and the power of your Holy Spirit in our hearts.
Amen.

Evening
Prayer
Daniel 7: 9 – 10 and 13 – 14
Daniel reports a vision he has of thrones being set in
place and the Ancient One on a throne surrounded by light and flames with
millions attending and serving.
Psalm 95: 1 – 7
Sing to God songs of praise for all things
God has done for us. Be joyful. Make a noise. Worship and bow down before the
one who made us.
John 12: 20 – 23
Some Greeks ask to talk with Jesus. Jesus tells them
what is to come and through his death on the cross, the ruler of the world will
be defeated; God will be glorified.

Oh God we thank you for all you have given us and done
for us. We thank you that we are here, at this day and at this hour. May our lives be
full of praise and joy so that we too may glorify you and bring others to do
the same through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord and Saviour. Amen.
