Morning
Prayer
Psalm 95
Sing praise to God, be joyful and give thanks. God
made everything it all belongs to God. Let’s worship. Don’t be like the
Israelites in the desert who locked their hearts from God.
Revelation 20: 11 – 15
This section is a vision of the throne of God at the
judgement. It is so bright nothing else can be seen. The dead, from all ages
who are worthy, rise to heaven. Then death and the resting place of the dead
are consumed by fire. The book where all lives are recorded is thrown into the
fire too.

Holy Lord you
are the eternal one and you know everything about all of us, and you love us.
Keep our hearts and minds open to you and to your love, so that knowing you and
loving you and following your commandments we have no fear of judgement; we
have no concern for “the book of life”. Instead we run to you our rock, our
redeemer and our safety through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord and the power of
your Holy Spirit. Amen.

Evening
Prayer
Jeremiah 23: 1 – 8
First Jeremiah warns the people who scatter God’s
people like scattering sheep and drive them out of the place God intended for
them. Shepherds will be found who will
care for the people. God will raise up a person who will be called “The Lord is
our righteousness” – a prediction about the coming of the Messiah.
Psalm 98
Praise and thanks to God who is victorious across the
entire earth. Break into joyful singing and music making. Let the sea roar and
floods clap their hands and hills sing for joy. God is coning to judge the
world with righteousness and fairness.
Revelation 7: 9 – 17
This is a vision of a great multitude of people from
all nations of the world before the Lamb of God and surrounded by all the
heavenly hosts. They are the people sho have come through the great ordeal and
been cleansed through Christ’s blood. They are here before God worshipping,
safe, hungry no more, thirsting no more and comfortable. They have eternal life and grief is gone.

Awesome
and loving God, you sent us your Son so that we are able to be with you forever.
Uplift us today so that we may sing and play music to your glory and honour giving
you thanks and praise through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, the lamb who was
slain and the power of your Holy Spirit who dwells in our hearts now and
forever. Amen.
